Dove Antibacterial Soap Review Benefits & Risks

The Dove Antibacterial Soap is actually called the Dove Care & Protect Antibacterial Beauty Bar.

Dove has been around for a while and they have a wide range of cleansers, soaps, deodorants, antiperspirants, hand soaps, body washes, lotions, etc. Their price points also make them a super affordable brand.

But how well does this beauty bar work?

What Is The Dove Antibacterial Soap

The Dove Care & Protect Antibacterial Beauty Bar is made using a formula that has plant-based cleansers and is sulfate-free and paraben-free. It is dermatologist-reviewed and pH-balanced, as well.

But what makes it even better is that it is also antibacterial. The antibacterial agent used in this formula is Benzalkonium Chloride.

However, it also contains fragrance and dyes. This means that it may not be the best for people with extra sensitive skin or for people who are either sensitive to or allergic to fragrances and dyes.

On the plus side, though, it also contains moisturizing ingredients that prevent the cleanser from stripping your skin completely. So, you should not feel extra dry after your shower.

My Experience

For me, this soap was gentle enough to be used every day on my body. However, I avoid using fragrances on my face and I found that my face became a little too dry after trying this a few times.

However, it worked great for my mild underarm odor and it left my skin feeling relatively moisturized after each bath. I still needed to moisturize but I did not feel stripped.

Side Effects Of Using The Dove Antibacterial Soap

Like all skincare products, the most common side effects associated with this sopa are irritation and allergic reactions.

These are always a possibility, especially with people who are very sensitive to various ingredients.

I always recommend doing an initial patch test before applying soaps or any product all over your skin.

Also, always read your labels and ingredient lists properly. Make sure that you are not known to be allergic to anything that is listed. If you are unsure, get professional advice, especially if you are using this soap on surgery sites or wounds.
