7 Best & Strongest Antiperspirants For Excessive Sweating

If you are looking for antiperspirants for excessive sweating, then you’ve landed in the right place. We have tried and reviewed many great antiperspirants that help to prevent excessive sweating. So, this is your one-stop spot to see all of them!

Are they effective? Will they have side effects? How do you use them? Which ones are best? Who can and cannot use them? How long do they last? How much do they cost? We will answer all these questions and more.

But first, a small recap.

What Is Excessive Sweating

Excessive Sweating is an actual medical condition that can be diagnosed. It is called Hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis can be influenced by genetics, diet, underlying conditions, and many other factors that we sometimes have very little control over.

But what we can try to control is the sweating.

Excess sweat also leads to excess odor, which can make us very uncomfortable.

However, if we can control the amount of sweat we have on our skin and control the number of bacteria in the area, we can remain dry and prevent odor. A win-win for everyone!

Antiperspirants For Excessive Sweating (Our tested choices)

There are quite a few great antiperspirants for excessive sweating available. We have made a list of the ones that work the best and have even reviewed them after trying them out!

1- Anhydrol Forte

This one is the strongest of the set. It has a very basic formula which contains 20% Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate (active ingredient) and industrial methylated spirit.

Its purpose is specifically to stop sweat by plugging your sweat glands. It does not have any other ingredients and is not a skincare product. In fact, it can be thought of more as a treatment.

It is safe to use (unless you are allergic to aluminum). But, because of how strong it is, and its lack of any skincare ingredients, it can cause some irritation, redness and itching when first applied. However, it is very effective (stops up to 90% of sweat) and each application will last about 5-7 days.

Anhydrol Forte can be bought online from various pharmacies, Amazon (when in stock) or it can be procured from your doctor’s office.

2- Odaban Spray

This is another very straightforward sweat stopper with a very basic formula. It contains Denatured Alcohol, PEG-12 Dimethicone, and Aluminum Chloride 20%.

The difference between this and Anhydrol Forte (other than the fact that this is a spray) is that Odaban contains Dimethicone, which is a skin conditioning ingredient. So, this will be a little less irritating on the skin at least it did for me.

Some people may still experience some irritation and itching during the first few days of use (especially if applied on wet skin) but this will go away.

It is also fragrance-free, but in my opinion, it has a chemical smell that many people do not like. Odaban is safe to use unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients and it is very effective (it will keep you bone-dry!).

3 – Certain Dri Prescription Strength Antiperspirants

The Certain Dri antiperspirants are clinical strength but they are also more skincare oriented.

The Prescription Strength Antiperspirant – Invisible Roll-On contains Aluminum Chloride (12%), Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Sodium hydroxide and Water.

On the other hand, the Prescription Strength Antiperspirant & Deodorant – Invisible Dry Spray contains Aluminum Chlorohydrate (25%) and a bunch of other great skincare ingredients like Aloe Extract and others.

Both of them are safe, but their effectiveness will vary. They did manage to keep us here at Sasily pretty dry all day! However, they will need to be reapplied every 3 days or so (may last longer if you sweat less).

4- Driclor

Driclor is a clinical strength antiperspirant that was designed for people who struggle with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). It has a very basic formula that is made up of Ethanol (Alcohol), Purified Water, and Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate 20% (main, active ingredient).

This is not a deodorant, so it is fragrance-free, and it is not a skincare product so it does not contain moisturizers and conditioners for your skin. It simply plugs your sweat glands to effectively block sweating.

Because of the formula, some people may experience irritation, but it is safe to use unless you are allergic to aluminum.

Now let me tell you from my experience it is very effective and will keep you super dry for 3-7 days, depending on how much you sweat and how well your skin adapts.

Now, it’s a little difficult to get Driclor in the US, but it is widely available in the UK. It is currently out of stock on Amazon, but it can be purchased online from reputable UK pharmacies. Click here to see Driclor.

5- Perspirex

Perspirex has product lines for both men and women. They were designed for people who have moderate to excess sweat protection needs. The main ingredient is Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate, but the concentration in each product will vary.

The strongest ones are the Perspirex For Men – Maximum and the Strong Roll-On Antiperspirant Deodorant (for both men and women). Both of them contain Alcohol (Denatured), Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate (25%), and PEG-12 Dimethicone. The other options will have less aluminum and some skincare ingredients as well.

These antiperspirants are safe to use unless you are allergic to any of the ingredients. However, they may still cause some irritation if used incorrectly or for the first few days of application. Their effectiveness is worth it, though. From our testing, they can easily last 3-5 days and keep you super dry all day and all night!

6- Duradry

Duradry is another skincare-oriented antiperspirant that was designed for excessive sweating. The main ingredient in their AM stick is Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex Gly 20%.

It also contains a bunch of other great ingredients that moisturize and condition the skin while keeping bacteria under control. Their PM gel contains Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate 15% and a bunch of other skin-nourishing ingredients as well.

For the best results, the PM gel and AM stick should be used together. The AM stick is used daily and the PM gel provides up to 3 days of protection. They are both safe to use.

7- Carpe

Carpe is one of the more common antiperspirants that people use for excessive sweating. Not only does it work, but it is great on the skin as well! Carpe also has a line of products for excessive sweating on the hands and feet!

However, for underarm sweat, their antiperspirant stick needs to be applied daily (like regular antiperspirants). It contains Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate at 15% along with other skin conditioning ingredients to prevent irritation and nourish the skin.

When I used it every application lasted for 24 hours. And, after about 4 weeks of consistent use, I saw a difference a reduction in how much I sweated in general. It is very safe to use.
