Neat 3B Face Saver Gel Review- Is It Safe & What To Expect

If you haven’t heard about the Neat 3B Face Saver Gel, then you’re either lucky enough not to need too much sweat protection, or you live under a rock.

This facial antiperspirant has taken TikTok and many other social media platforms by storm. Ladies swear that it works like magic, even under makeup. And the guys can use it too!

So what makes this product such a big deal? And is it worth all the hype?

How The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel Works

The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel contains Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (16%), which blocks the sweat glands on the face where applied.

Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly is a complex of aluminum, zirconium, and glycine which forms a colloidal plug in the pores connected to your sweat glands to stop sweat from passing through.

16% is the concentration of the complex used in the formula. This is an FDA-approved amount deemed relatively safe enough for topical, everyday use.

The other ingredients in this gel include Aqua, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, and Parfum.

Is The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel Effective

Based on our trials and thousands of reviews, the Neat 3B Face Saver Gel is very effective for controlling facial sweating, even under makeup.

Sweat can be a pesky thing, especially if you are very active, live in hot climates, or struggle with hyperhidrosis (excessive sweat production).

For ladies, wearing makeup for an outdoor event and sweating buckets is an absolute nightmare. Not all makeup is sweatproof, and not many antiperspirants can be used on our faces without causing irritation or making our cosmetics look like a hot mess.

Here at Sasily, after reading tons of reviews, the girls decided to give it a try to see whether it would really hold up to the challenge. We applied the gel and then did a full face of skin prep and makeup. Then we hit the town for a day of outdoor activities, lunch, and a few happy hour cocktails.

We also had the guys try it out and sent them to work out!

Our Experience

The first thing to note is that a little of this stuff goes a long way. I used a small pea-sized amount that covered all the areas of my face that sweat.

Secondly, you do not need to apply this all over your face – only where you sweat (forehead, temples, nose, upper lip)!

Thirdly, if you have very sensitive skin, are acne-prone, or have active acne lesions where you also sweat, then this may not be the best for you.

However, with all of this aside, let me tell you, this stuff worked like magic. Sweat? On whose face? Not ours!

The girls and I were so surprised we could not stop checking our faces on our phones and talking about it all through happy hour. The people at the bar definitely thought we were a bit weird!

It worked like one of the best primers I ever used. The makeup held up well over it. It did not look cakey, nor did it start to lift a few hours later. It also looks smooth and matter, but not dry. And there was no sweat!

How To Use The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel

This gel comes with directions. However, the basics are to:

  1. Shake well before use.
  2. Use a small amount (sparingly). You do not need a lot (a pea-sized amount should be enough for all the areas that need coverage).
  3. Apply daily or as needed on clean, dry skin, before any other skincare or cosmetic products.
  4. Allow it to dry well and absorb into the skin for a few minutes before applying any other products.

Is The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel Safe To Use

The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel has been deemed safe enough for daily use provided that you are not allergic or extra sensitive to any of the ingredients in the formula.

The major concern that most people have is about the Aluminum content. Many of us worry about how much of it is absorbed into the body through the skin and whether it is absorbed in high enough concentrations to cause things like cancer and long-term health conditions.

However, research has shown that when using antiperspirants, you absorb only about 2% of the amount of aluminum you apply, which is already a small amount. For a compound to cause cancer or significant harm, you need to absorb high amounts into your bloodstream.

With this gel and other antiperspirants, nearly 98% of what you apply remains outside the skin at the opening of the sweat ducts and pores. The plug that is formed is gradually washed away every time you shower.

Remember that your skin is a mighty barrier against the outside world unless compromised (injured).

Side Effects Of The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel

Like all skin products, this gel carries the possibility of irritation and allergic reactions.

Many people can be allergic or sensitive to aluminum and aluminum derivatives, even when mixed in complexes like the Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly used in this formula. They can also be allergic or sensitive to other ingredients in the formula.

I strongly recommend that you check the ingredients list before applying this to your face to make sure that you are not allergic to anything listed. If you are unsure about your allergies, then do a patch test on a small area of skin (the soft skin just behind your ear is a great spot).

If your patch test goes well, then apply the product where you need it, but still watch out for adverse reactions.

Signs and symptoms can include itching, redness, swelling, bumps, rashes, dry patches, peeling, lesions that look like acne or breakouts, a burning sensation or tenderness.

Keep in mind that irritation will usually occur immediately or a few hours after application. However, an allergic reaction can occur after a few applications over a few days (delayed), not right away.

Can it cause your face to break out?

If you have acne-prone skin, the Neat 3B Face Saver Gel could potentially trigger or worsen breakouts in acne-prone areas.

This is because the product blocks your pores. If this happens in areas that are acne prone, or where your skin is not clean enough (has a lot of dead skin cells and bacteria built up), then it can cause breakouts.

However, many of us rarely sweat in the same areas where we usually get the most breakouts (cheek, chin) unless we have widespread acne. If this is the case, then avoid using this gel in areas where you usually get breakouts. If you get breakouts everywhere, then you may need to avoid using this gel altogether.

So, Is The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel Worth It?

It is a yes for me. The Neat 3B Face Saver Gel is a great addition to your skin stocks.

You may not need to use it every day if you do not sweat excessively. However, as long as you are not allergic to anything in it or experience irritation (which we did not), when you do use it, it is super effective.

Also, given that you only need a tiny amount, it is quite economical – one tube will last you forever!

Here is a review from someone who suffers from hyperhidrosis. Keep in mind that this product was not designed for hyperhidrosis specifically but for average facial sweating.
