Using Rose Water to lighten dark Underarms & get rid of Body Odor

Rose water has become very popular in the skincare industry and is most commonly used as a toner. It has many tremendous benefits and is known to be great for sensitive skin.

One of the questions I get a lot is whether rose water can be applied on the underarms and what it can help with.

Fun Fact: Rose water is made by processing rose petals with steam it is very natural and has almost no side effects.

Can Rose Water Lighten Dark Underarms

Rose water is not a bleaching agent but constant use can indirectly brighten your underarms.

Rose water cleans out your pores by breaking up sebum and removing other impurities that can lead to blackheads, whiteheads, or rashes.

It also cleans the skin by removing surface dirt and dead skin cells while also soothing the skin. This helps greatly with things like razor burns after shaving and irritation.

Using rose water frequently will help the skin to keep the skin clean, heal and soothe it, and allow the cells to regenerate healthier.

Can Rose Water Help With Body & Underarm Odor

Rose water will not completely get rid of body and underarm odor, but it can significantly help to reduce it.

This will depend on how much odor you experience and the cause of the odor and if it needs to be tackled like an existing medical condition.

Rose water has some antimicrobial properties which help to get rid of and control odor-causing bacteria. It also helps to balance the pH of the skin and has a naturally potent rose smell that gives you a lovely fragrance.

How long will rose water last for armpit odor?

Rose water will gradually start to change the pH balance and microorganism colony on your skin. Now you should notice a difference in a few days which will last for as long as you continue using the rose water.

As your skin gets used to the changing pH and fewer bacteria, you will gradually notice a difference in odor due to fewer bacteria, cleaner skin, and a better pH balance.

DIY Rose Water Recipe

If you prefer to make your rose water, it is super easy! Here is what to do:

  1. Use a clean pot and put as many fresh rose petals as you want in it.
  2. Cover the rose petals with distilled water. The petals should barely be submerged. Too much water will dilute your rose essence too much.
  3. Place the pot over slow heat and let it come to a slow boil.
  4. When it has boiled, turn off the heat and keep the pot covered. Let it sit until the liquid has cooled back to room temperature.
  5. Strain your rose water into a sanitized bottle.
